The “Connect Coach” program is a series of coach education workshops designed specifically for coaches moving through the coach accreditation pathway.

The purpose of the Netball WA Connect Coach program is to support the existing coach accreditation framework through the delivery of educational workshops designed to prepare participants for the next level of accreditation.

The 3-hour Connect Coach Workshops are a mix of theory and practical components. It is not a pre-requisite for coaches to have completed these workshops prior to registering for the Coach Accreditation Courses however the workshops will enhance coaches understanding and practical skills required for the next level of accreditation. 

The courses available are for coaches entering the accreditation system at Foundation, Development and Intermediate levels


Designed for coaches that have completed the online Foundation Coach Accreditation course and wish to undertake the Development Coach Accreditation Course.

This practical workshop will cover the skills of:

  • Demonstrations
  • Progressing skills
  • Error Detection and Correction
  • Feedback 
  • Game Sense

The course provides coaches with the opportunity to learn the practical presentation skills required for the Development Accreditation Course.


Designed for coaches that have completed the Foundation Coach Accreditation Course and wish to move onto the Development Coach Accreditation Course. 

This practical workshop will cover:

  • 1-5 Step Progression
  • Error Detection/Correction 

Along with the Netball Skills of:

  • Roll & half roll
  • Front cut
  • Clear & drive
  • Give & go
  • Defensive repositioning
  • Defensive dictating
  • 1st ball to a contest  

This practical workshop will prepare coaches for the Development Coach Accreditation Course with the practical components they are required to deliver during the course.


Designed for coaches that have completed the Development Coach Accreditation Course and wish to undertake the Intermediate Coach Accreditation Course

This practical workshop will cover:

  • 1-7 Sep Progression
  • Error Detection/Correction 
  • Coachable Moments – What, When, Why, How?

This workshops will prepare coaches for the Intermediate Coach Accreditation Course in which coaches are assessed on their delivery of a 45 minute coaching session.

The Connect Coach program is available to current Netball WA affiliated coaches only. Netball WA is committed to ensuring all coaches are covered by insurance when participating in Netball WA sanctioned courses, workshops and events.


The Coaches in the Field program is a series of coach education workshops designed specifically for the community coach. The purpose of Netball WA Coaches in the Field program is to support the existing coach accreditation framework by delivering educational workshops designed for coaches at the community level, as well as workshops that are aimed specifically at development or higher level accredited coaches.

These are fantastic courses that give you heaps of fantastic tips for all levels of players.



The Dare to Develop a Diamond Program is a Netball Australia initiative for the development of 11-13 and 14-16 year old athletes that focuses on the development of a netball athlete within these specific age groups.

The program is suitable for ALL level of coaches.


The Selectors Workshop is a Netball Australia Online Learning workshop designed to provide information for coaches with regards to selecting athletes.

The online education aims to provide anyone in the position of selector with a wealth of information on the best way to approach the process of selection. It provides key pieces of information and some practical strategies about how you go about identifying talent and working through the process of selection, both in a squad and team setting. The course consists of six modules and takes about 60 minutes to complete. A certificate is provided to all participants on completion.


To value add to the Selectors Online Workshop and provide coaches a practical component to the theory, Netball WA are providing opportunity for coaches to attend a practical session during underage State Phases. This is a unique opportunity for coaches to view the processes put in place for selections. Hear from State Selectors and West Coast Fever Head Coach on what they look for in the athletes during the different selection phases. Have a go at “real-time” selecting and see how you go!
